Changing things up soon. . .ish.
It was early May of 05 when I was messing around with geocities, I loved looking around at the personal sites of geocities and angelfire just seeing what other regular people when throwing up on the net. I was interested in having a site, but had no idea what to do with one. So I thought I learn how to make a site by going thru the steps, but stop before the final step, and then come back when I got an idea of what to do. But before I knew it, I had accidentally published the site, and had my own little piece of webspace.
I spent entire time I had the site from 05 all the way till geocities closed in late 09, just trying to decide what to do with the damn thing. I realized early on I had no idea what to do, hence the meta joke name, “A Place Where Nothing Happens”, mocking my own directionless approach to the site. In time, I came to posting my comics, talking about my projects, writing reviews, and giving my general thoughts. I tried to make a point to update it at least once a month, though I blew that often.
In 2012, I just wanted to get out my job, which I hated with a passion. I just had to get out, didn’t have the money for collage, no other job lined up, I just had to get the F*** out of there before I lost my mind completely. I figured 2012 was going to be my last year there, so I was planning to try to grow my youtube, and try to get something published. So I started this site to be a central resource for my work and replace A Place Where Nothing happens. I set this site up in Aug ’12, and I finally quit my job the following February. While I was relived to be out of that place, my head space completed shifted, I was simply not thinking the same things creativity wise. I just couldn’t finished what I started before I quit my job, and a new creative universe was forming in my mind. Honestly, looking back on what I was working on back then, it was probably for the best that stuff never made it out to the light of day.The cringe is real.
Working 3rd shift since 2014 also made it difficult to do anything really. I really only seem to have maybe a couple of hours a day to myself, and if I don’t do anything in that time, well that’s it. (I”m pushing my bed time writing this btw.)
So here we here, over five f***in’ years since I made this site, and it’s another A Place Where Nothing Happens, literally. This new creative multiverse in my headspace seems stable enough, and I feel the ideas may have a wide enough appeal. I just want to read some more before I do the really hard writing. But I feel I need a practice in diligence in the meantime. So I look back to this site, and just like A Place Where Nothing happens before it, I shall make a point to update it at least once a month. Whither it’s a short one shot comic, a short piece of writing, and just a good old fashion rant blog. I feel this is what need to get me back to my old creative grove.
I’m thinking of changing the site around somewhat, so keep a eye open, at least eye on my social media.

Deleting the forum
So I’m thinking of deleting the forums on Sleeping God Studios. I made them to talk to people and get feedback on my stuff. But since I hardly update, nobody seems to be into forums anymore, and fighting the spammers and keeping the software updated/upgraded is a pain, it doesn’t seem worth it keeping it around. So, anybody care if I get rid of it?

My Thoughts on the 2016 Election.
I’ve been meaning to write something like this for weeks. My political views aren’t complicated: I believe the Government needs to be more efficient, limited and properly restrained in its powers. That people in the government need to understand taxpayers’ money isn’t the Government’s money, it’s The People’s money and they must be good stewards of that money. That we should have the strongest, most advance, and valiant Armed Forces, and that we must use our Military power responsibly and wisely, only for the protection and interests of The People and Peace, NOT for the monied, political, or ideological interests of the elite few. And most of all, To protect our Civil Rights and Liberty above all else, whether it is from the Government, or any other powers that are, from undermining/infringing/violating our Inherent Rights and Freedoms.
This election, the two major parties have completely failed to deliver candidates even remotely adequate to my values, or the values of the American people in general.
Even before the leaks, most knew Hillary was untrustworthy from the beginning. From her shady connections to wall-street, saying one thing to the people but doing another in policy/action, being a giant war-hawk, and overall being an absolute self-serving career politician. Then the leaks came out and confirmed what people already suspected and more then just that. She is the very embodiment of all that is wrong with American politics, and not a single word of hers can be believed. And if you think that’s just from Republican hate-mongering? Just look to Bernie supporters before she got the nomination, they knew what was up with Clinton. I didn’t like Bernie, but damn it, the man and his supports were robbed. Of course, he went and bent the knee and kissed the ring, he deserved what he got for betraying his principles. His supporters did not.
And Trump, the sideshow attraction that stormed the center-ring and turned the circus that’s American politics into a outright insane asylum. The pissed public’s political Molotov cocktail. I doubt his left-wing protectionist policies will help American industry to return. His wall will fail to keep bad guys and drugs out. The cartels undoubtedly have strong enough connections with corrupted government officials, private businessmen, and bankers that they and their products will still cross the border no problems, and that includes human trafficking.
And for all of his blustery rhetoric and attitude, he has no real substance under it all. He’s a paper tiger. He doesn’t have the ability to follow thru with his proposals, and even if he did, people on both sides hate him and congress will block him at every turn. You think Obama faced obstructionism? You’ve seen nothing yet if Trump gets elected with both parties against him. And do I even have to bring up his behavior?
Asking me to choose between these two is an insult to my intelligence. I rather stick my hand in a hornet’s nest than vote for either of them. The only candidate whose platform that reflects my views, for the most part, Is Gary Johnson. As Governor of New Mexico he cut wasteful spending and taxes, still built new infrastructures and schools, and left New Mexico with a billion-dollar surplus. He’s the strongest believer of Civil Liberties in the race, is fiscally-conservative and socially liberal. I’ve followed him since he ran in 2012, and read his book, and seems to be of good character and has been proven honest and down to earth. His running mate, Bill Weld, has a similar record, and seems to be a good man himself, and both of them have fought and won against corruption in their terms as Governors. I admit they’re not completely perfect, but in this election against Hillary and Trump, that can hardly be held against them. It’d be great if we had the next Abe Lincoln as a 3rd party candidate, but we don’t and it’s completely unreasonable to hold a 3rd party to any such standard, especial in this election. I agree with Gary and Bill on 90% of their platform, and what they get right, they really get right.
All I ask is for people to honestly consider voting for Johnson/Weld, or for any 3rd party for that matter. If a 3rd party won just one key state, it will prevent both Hillary and Trump from getting 270 electoral votes, and the election goes to the House, where we might be able to deny both of them the Presidency. Or if a 3rd party gets 5% of the national vote it will help end the political duopoly in America.
A wasted vote is a vote for someone you don’t believe it. Our vote is our voice, and in the voting booth it is a simple ‘yea’ to a candidate. Not “yea, but with reservations,” not a “yea, but just to keep the other guy out” or “yea, this one is bad, but the other is worst.” It’s a simple yea. You could write a letter to the candidate you voted for, either private or open, with your problems with them, but it’s unlikely they’d even read it let alone consider it. You write your Congressmen and hope that helps, but we’ve seen how Washington works. When you vote ask yourself, “Can I really give this candidate a simple yea? And accept all that comes with them?” With Johnson/Weld, even with the few problems I have, I can firmly and proudly give them a simple Yea. Can you do the same with the major two?
I’m not (just) voting against someone or something. I’m voting FOR someone, I’m voting FOR something. I’m voting for Liberty, Honesty, ending corruption, and Peace. I’m voting for Johnson/Weld.
And if you say, “well, that’s all well and good, but this election is too important, we can’t risk a 3rd party vote, vote for the lesser of two evils.” To which I say; How bad does it have to get before we say enough with this nonsense? How bad do the two major parties have to get before we say that’s enough, we’re not voting for you anymore? If Trump vs. Hillary isn’t the worst the duopoly can throw at us I really, really don’t want to see what is. I don’t see either party getting any better in the near future atop of that. This is THE time throw up our hands and tell the big two they f***ed up for the last time, and we’re not putting up with it anymore.

It’s not gold.
Just an idea I had, probably won’t make it into a full blown story, tell me what you think:
“It has been a month since she came to this world, and it’s ruling nation. It was everything she had ever dreamed a perfect world would be. The people were diverse and peaceful. There was plenty, and all was shared freely. Technology advanced to the point all of lowest and nastiest of jobs were preformed by thoughtless machines. So it sorrowed her to know there was a single nation left on earth that stood against the peace and process of the rest of the world. So she was gun-ho go there as a spy, as being not of the world they would not be able to identify her as a citizen of the world nation, and think she is one of them. Helping to bring down the last threat to peace and progress was the greatest honor to her.
She waited for the metal smith to counterfeit coins to use in the rouge nation. The fact they stilled used money in this time just showed how ignorant, greedy, and barbaric those people are. Finally, the smith came with two-thousand-one-hundred coins. The smith handed her the coins in bags and explained their value. The coins of lowest value were of copper, which she was given a thousand of. Next were five-hundred of coins of bronze. After that five-hundred coins of pure nickel. Next were one-hundred of coins of highest value. She pulled them out of the bag expecting gold, but instead the coins were made of a hard bright grey metal, with a fist and skull on one face, a open hand dropping seeds over plowed ground on the other.
“What is this?” She asked. “It’s not gold.”
The smith smiled, and replied;
“They don’t believe in gold over there, the liar’s metal they call it. Those coins are made of the metal they love more than any other, Steel. The one thing they feel they can trust. You must work hard to make steel, work hard to maintain it, if you neglect it, it rusts and goes away. It returns whatever you give it. It symbolizes one of core pillars of their beliefs. We know they are the nation ignorant adult children. But to them, they are the People of Steel.”

Melanie gripped her axe tightly, Saoirse drew her sword.
“What should we do?” Their client asked.
The riders raised their left-hands high, a ball of fire foamed in the palm of the rider on the left, sparks from the fingers of the right, and a bright red light from the hand of the center rider.

The Perpetual Morning. (Welcome to f***ing 3rd shift.)
So I started a new job, two and a half months ago. I don’t feel any need to say where, not that I’m ashamed of it or anything, but I feel it’s better to keep my day job and online activities separate. Especially in this day of age when expressing the wrong thing can result in keyboard warriors contacting your employer to try to get you fired because they disagree with you.
Liking the job so far, and it feels good to not only have income, but to get out of the house and see other people. But what does this mean for this place and my work? Well I had a jump in productivity with creative stuff since working. So the job is actually helping with that.
It’s a night job, so I sleep in the day. But when I get up in the evening my family tells me good morning, co-workers also say morning when I get there since they too just woke up, the majority of the shift is after midnight so it’s technically morning, and it’s dawn when I get off so everyone is saying morning. It’s been a never ending morning, got to double-check the day regularly, and even though I get plenty of sleeping I haven’t felt quite reset in awhile. I wonder if this is how a time or deep space traveler feels.
I bought a new tv, a RCA 40″ LCD HDTV. I haven’t watched tv in awhile, really I bought the thing cause I wanted more space, and that big 24″ standard tv was getting to be too much of a space hog. So this thinner tv works better for my space needs. It looks great too, especially with gaming. The only problem I have is that my PS3 refuses to play my Manowar dvds, since they’re in pal format. I can still watch them on my dvd player, but I wish I could watch them in the best quality possible. So I either need to buy a AV-HDMI converter, or upgrade my DVD 5.1 system to a blu-ray system that supports pal.
Yeah, it’s not exactly a first for Thor.
Now just a little rant of Marvel announcing a female Thor. The gender bending thing isn’t a new issue concerning Thor (Þrymskviða anyone?). The thing is, if they want to bring in more female representation and female readers, why not bring Freyja into prominence in the Marvel universe? She was one the most powerful and celebrated goddesses of the Norse. She even got first pick of half of the valiant slain, that’s right, she took her half before Odin. She would be great to turn into a superhero character, the source material is rich, she hasn’t been used like at all so she’d be a relatively fresh character in the Marvel universe, and she’ll be a great inspiration for girls to look up to. But like a Brother on facebook said; “ that would require EFFORT.” So we get just a female version of a popular male character that’ll be gone in a few months, a year at most. It’s just pure pandering for click-bait and to boost sales for a few months. Then they’ll return to the status quo like comic books do. Really, you’re a fool if you’re mad that Thor was changed, since you should better.
But you know, girls and women deserve better then just getting a female character that just piggybacks off a male character. We all deserve better. But the SJW that are being pandered to, and are celebrating this don’t deserve better, they deserve all of this. To have a empty “strong” woman character that’s just a male character with a female body, that will go back to normal, making the fucking thing meaningless. To give even a decent woman character to the SJW would be casting pearls among swine. They’ll try bend her to their views of women and the world and never let her be, if they can’t make her fit they’ll ignore her, and if she becomes too popular with others they’ll find something to disqualify her as a good character and say she’s part of what’s “wrong” with whatever medium she resides in. Freyja is too good for them. Same goes for minority characters. Notice that they celebrate when the race of established white characters are changed, but when actual minority characters created by minorities fade away, we don’t hear a peep out of them. Static was created as a black character, by a black creator, who was award winning. But Static’s book has been canceled and the character seems to be sidelined possibly for good. But are we hearing anything from the SJWs? Nope. They just want attention, to be pandered to, they don’t give a fuck about characters and stories of substance that will be remembered. They care about feeling like the world cares about what they think, and they want it in the moment.
This just emboldens me with my female characters, to make them real in spirit. Characters of substance. I don’t give a damn if they(SJW) won’t like them. My characters and my stories will be from the heart, be True.
